Perfect Day Watersports is committed to protecting the privacy of all individuals using this website. We will only use the information that we collect about you lawfully (in accordance with the General Data Ptotection Regulations that come into force May 2018). The following statement discloses the privacy practices for Perfect Day Watersports.

Information collection & use

 Typically we collect information about you;

1. To process your order

2. To contact you as required

3. To inform and adhere to the RYA Course Completion GDPR guidelines

 We will never collect sensitive information about you without your explicit consent other than standard details which allow us to process your order such as name & address. The information we hold will be accurate, up to date and where applicable such sensitive information will be stored encrypted. Your details will not be leased, rented or sold to any third party company.

Booking Forms - The online booking form must be completed online for all courses prior to attendance on the course. The data is only used for course preparation and contact purposes and will be retained for 1 year.

Powerboat Courses - On successful completion of your Powerboat course your name, contact details, date of birth, certificate number and date of issue will shared with the RYA through a secure web portal on www.rya.org.uk. The data will be stored on the RYA’s central database. This information allows the RYA to record your qualification, to update any records they may hold for you, and to verify or replace your certificate if required. Sailing Courses - On successful completion of your Sailing course your name, certificate number and date of issue will be stored for up to 7 years. This information allows us to verify or replace your certificate if required.

SRC and Day Skipper Theory Courses - Completed exam papers will be held for 5 years.

Medical Conditions - We ask that you inform us of any disability or medical conditions at the time of booking. You should then bring to the course accurate and relevant medical information and required medication. This is reviewed and stored only for the duration of the course.

 Cookies

 A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user's hard drive while they are visiting a particular website. It contains simple information about the user's identity but no personal information. This is primarily used to provide a unique experience while on our site. When the user closes their browser, the cookie is typically destroyed with the exception of account management cookies when the “remember me” check box is selected.

 In accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998 and the EU directive - known as the "Cookie Directive" the following activities may set a cookie on your computer.

 1.  Accessing our site (detrimental requirement), we store a session cookie which holds a random unique reference so that we can determine how many unique visitors we have received. This is destroyed once you leave our site or close your browser and cannot track you.

 2. Placing an order (detrimental requirement), stores basic information such as shipping courier preferences, country location and discount codes when used. Once an order is complete all cookies are destroyed. Without accepting these cookies we cannot reliably process your order through to completion.
